Today's Bible Minute explains what it means to have Jesus as your High Priest.
Hebrews 2:17 says, "Therefore he [meaning Jesus] had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people."
That is to say that Jesus became a man so that as a man, He could experience everything we experience. Then, he could come before God as the high priest knowing all the pain, all the testing of human life, and then offer true mercy to us!
And let's face it, if mercy wasn't part of our salvation, we would have no hope. So thank God that when we come to Him for mercy, it's there in His Son Jesus Christ!
